Introduction to Canton Tower
Nicknamed "Xiao Man Yao," meaning "slim waist," the Canton Tower stands as one of Guangzhou's most iconic landmarks. Also known as the Guangzhou New TV Tower, it rises majestically in Haizhu District, located just 125 meters from the south bank of the Pearl River. Facing Zhujiang New Town and Flower City Square across the river, the tower offers one of the best views of the city.
The main body of Canton Tower reaches 454 meters, and with the addition of its 146-meter antenna mast, the tower soars to a total height of 600 meters. Upon completion, it was the tallest tower in China and the fourth tallest in the world, ranking just behind the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (828 meters), Tokyo Skytree (634 meters), and KVLY Tower in North Dakota (628.8 meters).
Canton Tower is built to withstand earthquakes up to magnitude 7.8 and typhoons of magnitude 12, ensuring its safety and stability for over 100 years. The tower also houses several world record-setting features, such as the world’s highest “Spider-Man Sky-walk” and the world’s highest revolving restaurant.
With its 88 floors (37 physical floors, 2 underground, and the rest hollow), the tower encompasses a total area of 114,054 square meters. It opened to the public on September 30, 2010, and officially began ticket sales on October 1, 2010, China’s National Day.

The entire rotation takes approximately 100 minutes, allowing guests to experience the magnificent cityscape during their meal. The restaurant can seat 130-150 people at a time and offers both Chinese and Mediterranean cuisine.
488 Outdoor Photography Viewing Platform
Awarded the title of "world’s highest outdoor viewing platform" by Guinness World Records in 2013, the "Sky 488" platform is located at 488 meters, on the tower’s antenna mast. It surpasses the viewing platforms of the Burj Khalifa (442 meters) and the CN Tower (447 meters). This platform covers an area of 177 square meters and can accommodate over 20 people at once, providing a perfect vantage point to capture stunning views of the entire city.
Ferris Wheel
Dear Lykkers! The Canton Tower Ferris Wheel, located at 450-454 meters above ground, is the highest Ferris wheel in the world. Unlike traditional Ferris wheels, it operates along an inclined track. Each cycle lasts approximately 20 minutes, offering passengers a chance to admire Guangzhou's skyline from all angles. The Ferris wheel consists of 16 cabins, each accommodating 4-6 passengers.
Spider-Man Sky-walk
One of the tower’s most thrilling attractions is the Spider-Man Sky-walk, located between 168 and 334.4 meters. This is the longest and highest sky-walking ladder in the world. With 1,088 steps spiraling up around the core of the tower, the walk stretches over 1,000 meters and reaches a height of 166.4 meters. As visitors ascend, they can step on transparent glass panels that add an extra thrill to the experience. The Sky-walk begins on the 33rd floor and ends on the 62nd floor, taking about 40 minutes to an hour to complete.
Sky Drop
At 455-485 meters, the Sky Drop offers the world’s highest vertical downhill entertainment. This adrenaline-pumping experience allows visitors to descend 30 meters in just over one second, providing a unique opportunity to experience free-fall. There are two types of seats available: traditional "sit-jump" and the more exhilarating "stand-jump."
