In Switzerland, green hills exist strictly. In the Alps, blue sky, clouds, snow tops, lakes, forests, meadows, cattle and sheep, and streams all exist strictly. When you sit on a slow train, climb over a high mountain, cross a pool of green water, and the road turns to the end of the stream.
The small village that appeared in the postcard suddenly appears in front of you. The restless heart began to become peaceful. Here are some beautiful towns under the Alps.
Grindelwald is located northeast of the Jungfrau and is known for its "dream slopes". The top of the snow mountain is white, the exposed rocks under the snow top are brown, and then transition to the dark green coniferous forest. The town of Grindelwald is not big, and there are not many people in the town during the day. The Jungfrau Mountain in the distance and the 300-kilometer-long trails around it attract most people. Starting from the town, if you want to see snow-capped mountains, lakes, cattle and sheep, or a blueberry bush, it's up to you.
At night, the lights of Grindelwald came on, and the windows of the cabins shone with warm colors. Although the lights are dim, they are enough to illuminate your dreamland.
Lauterbrunnen is located in a different valley from Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen means "waterfall town". There are 72 waterfalls in the valley where it is located, and these waterfalls with a drop of more than 300 meters are constantly playing a symphony.
During the flowering season, residents decorate their courtyards with flowers, and every house here is eligible to appear on a postcard.
The next stop in Lauterbrunnen is the mountainside town of Wengen. Wengen, 1274 meters above sea level, is built right on the cliffs of Lauterbrunnen. Motor vehicles are prohibited from entering the village, and it is as peaceful as an old man who has read everything about the world.
In Wengen, many quaint little hotels are scattered along the hillside. Push open the hotel window and you will be caught off guard by the mountain view of the Alps.
The town of Mürren, in the same valley as Lauterbrunnen, is the only way to pass the Schilthorn. Like Wengen, Mürren is also closed to motor vehicles, and the train to the Schilthorn and the cable car from Lauterbrunnen are the best ways to get there.
Mirren is located on a cliff at an altitude of 1,600 meters. Looking west, it is the towering Schilthorn, and looking east, it is a knife-like Wanren cliff.
Although the Jungfrau is beautiful, the honor of the most famous mountain in the Alps belongs to the Matterhorn, and Zermatt at the foot of it is also one of the most famous alpine towns in Europe. Around Zermatt are mountains. The Matterhorn in the southwest is especially beautiful.
Take the cable car in Zermatt to reach the highest observation deck in Europe at 3883 meters, and see the perfect triangle of the Matterhorn up close. On the summit where the viewing platform is located, there is also a glacier paradise hidden 15 meters under the ice.
Switzerland has many mountains, but only Rigi is known as the "queen of mountains". Its 1,800-meter-high mountain is far less majestic than the Matterhorn, but the abundant lake light makes the Alps soft.
Weggis at the foot of Mount Rigi and on the shore of Lake Lucerne is a rose garden embedded between mountains and lakes. Goethe and Mark Twain lived here, and Mark Twain called it "the most beautiful place in the world".
Weggis is a town of extravagant colors, and each color is woven into a brocade: the blue of Lake Lucerne, the colorful flowers, the emerald green of the meadows to the dark green of the forest, and the white of the snow-capped mountains.
